I have given up everything for nothing,
in small bits and huge leaps,
if fear is nothing;
fear conquering all
because I was afraid to lose,
lose face and loved ones and happiness,
lose the life that I had for
the life I could have had,
and in this magic trick of life
in the end I stand on the empty stage
holding in my weary arms
the weight of everything I lost.
