PYRRHIC VICTORIES

 We have defeated

the Past on many

battlefields,

yet those were

hard-fought victories,

Pyrrhic ones;

we lost so much

to gain them.

And now,

we hear that a new enemy,

the Future,

is raising a mighty host.
