NO, THIS CAN'T BE FORGIVEN

Over half a thousand murdered

people, over two hundred murdered

children in two days -

and this hasn't shook the world,

brought calls for a no-fly zone,

acceptance of the necessity

of peacekeepers,

it hasn't brought the revulsion

and angry condemnation

that we need as a species

to be moral and just.

No, it hasn't and this can't be forgiven,

the half-hearted, weak words,

the lips that have remained closed,

the outright support for slaughter.

No, this can't be forgiven,

this acceptance of mass murder,

and a price will have to be paid,

and will be paid, and it

will be half-blind and furious

justice, hitting the guilty

and many innocent before

it will have been exacted in full.
