What Russia is doing wrong
in annexing occupied
bits of Ukraine,
one after another,
is orchestrating fake referendums;
everyone knows
that the right way to go about
taking over others' land,
casting away their flag
and putting up yours,
is to go to Washington DC,
spend some serious money,
and have the president
of the United States of America
to gift it to you.
