I haven't yet gone to see the news about the genocide;
when you start you can't stop, it devours everything.
So I sit here, drinking coffee, reading about
26th dynasty tombs discovered in Egypt
while sipping coffee, listening to a video
about the invention of writing, plan finishing
that very much a second rate Yeats poem
I am working on, thinking of all the people
I have abandoned to their fates
that were far from pre-ordained.
