What has been
in these decades of mirage
will not be undone;
no mere unravelling
of the fabric
to leave the thread intact -
it will be erased
so that it never was:
This existence,
the driven wave,
the calm depths,
the shoals where
they met, all going
to the void unliving,
never existing,
such are things,
foam on the crashing wave
from human beings
to their labours
and the grand universe
itself, sparkling still.
All these myrias forms
in the cosmic frame
giving way
to a traceless void.
