WHEN THEY CATCH YOU

I noticed I had Wendy

Cope and Carol Ann Duffy

mixed up for years; and

with that realisation part

of me was standing isolated

in my suddenly still mind,

among all my other thought

fragments, embarrassed

among their knowledge

of old Chinese poets and

their exact dates and so forth

- so very awkward!
