I took an anchor
from one rowing boat
adrift, driven
beside the broken pier,
and dropped it
in the shallow water,
something done,
but left the other boats
be as they were
half expecting
someone arriving
at any moment
when I would be pulling
them up a bit to the shore,
and they did came,
that someone,
and they did nothing
but took some photographs,
like I did.
