We have known this moment
would come if we wouldn't act
to stop Global Warming,
well-to-do people in major
Western countries
escaping fires devouring homes
in their hundreds of thousands,
but so many of us pretended
this would happen only
to communities that didn't matter
until they themselves
would be safe under the ground
in their bunkers or their caskets.
