Abdulfattah Ahed Ahmad al-Hreibat, aged 20, was killed by Israel's occupation forces at Israeli occupation forces' military checkpoint at the southern entrance to the city of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank of Palestine on Wednesday May 7th. Israeli occupation forces claimed that he would have lightly injured one Israeli occupation forces' soldier with a knife, but the blade has no blood in it the photograph Israeli occupation forces spread and the knife was positioned so that he would have held the blade in his hand, not the handle.
After he had been killed
they put a knife under his hand.
Whether he tried to use it before
to fight for his land, his people, his nation
before they killed him
doesn't matter; anyone can see
it was put there afterwards,
whether it dropped from his hand
beside him when he was shot, staggered
back, collapsed and died
sitting against the concrete block
or whether they planted it outright.
They staged his death
so that it would fit their propaganda
better, even now,
on a day they killed 105 other human beings
in Gaza, 33 in a single massacre.
