killed today,
just like hundreds
were killed yesterday,
and the day before,
and the days -
not like this in these
last three years,
how many days
not like this
from Palestine to Sudan,
Lebanon and Iran?
Can you combine
the days of few deaths
even into one
month of peace?
One month of peace,
resting, quiet isle,
in the blood-dark
sea of these years.
