One can regret,
but when one doesn't act
to remedy
what one regrets,
when years go past
one after another,
becoming one
wasteland of regret,
the regret is less
than pointless,
and far worse -
it's an insult
to those who
should have been
treated better;
it's not for them,
regret without action,
it's masochistic egoism.
