Her hand putting an envelope
into the mailbox,
you might think
it would be offered a slight
caress, raised to the lips,
that gentle hand -
and it would be, it would,
but then, more -
it would be guided
down, that sweet,
gentle hand,
to grasp with an owner's
touch what waits for it
erect and hard.
