Israel's bombing of United Nations schools
sheltering tens of thousands of refugees
isn't a war crime,
Western politicians declare,
Israel's denial of food and medicine and water
for millions of people
isn't a crime against humanity,
Western politicians announce.
There is no need for arrest warrants
and charges at the International Criminal Court,
no need for a war crimes tribunal,
Western politicians tell.
If just no one would criticize or protest
or oppose or resist Israel,
if Palestinians would die in silence
and the world would turn its gaze away,
then everything would be well,
Western politicians tell.
