PHANTOMS IN A MIRAGE

You can't leave a mark in the universe

to last beyond your passing;

even the cosmos itself

will not leave one in the multiverse.

We are phantoms in a mirage,

without substance.

Look around you, all that you care

for: It is nothing. You are nothing.

Nothing matters, all of this will pass,

we will go and vanish and the stage

of human dust and blazing stars

will follow us. All, nothing.
