Answer to Charles William Stubbs(1845-1912)

God has no Englishmen,

but the Devil -

he has many;

and in their ranks

Arthur stands not,,

for he who fell at Camlann

was a Celt,

a warlord over shores

where still the richly-laden ships

that sailed from Constantinople

set their gifts,

and many an Angle

and Saxon his blade

cut down in crimson spray

and to the Devil sent.

God has no Englishmen,

but the Devil -
