SILENCE BEFORE THE INEVITABLE IS WISDOM

Proteus refuses to

reveal the future, and

why would he? It

is, waiting there,

and will be, and

knowledge will

not change it,

nor despair that

knowledge begets

in the yearning mind

and body struggling

to keep hold of the

changing sea-god.
