Seeing her username appear
sends those images
floating across
all thoughts
again,
the blue dress that so captured
your imagination
you could
barely breath you saw it
the first time
and all it evoked,
and the burning anger the slaughter
evoked is gone,
for now;
the heat you feel is of a different
nature,
one that doesn't burn
with anger, but is blessed,
and you think of softer things,
your mind flying free
on pinions of desire
while
the slaughter goes on. It's
your respite, the hour free
from what its victims
can't be
until the day of liberation.
But you are thankful
beyond all the words you know
and can write,
grateful
for her who gave you this freedom
to soar away.
