at last in its mooring
battered by the winds and waves,
done better
than the one before,
perhaps; and
another day being wasted
by poetry
(broken promise
to stop writing
today),
doing something
they tell us
their wonder programs
will make extinct,
no longer will humans
have to translate
from one language
to another language
the deepest essence
of being human,
no longer
will human beings
need to write poetry
at all
or read poetry,
their wonder programs
will create better poetry
and worse human beings
and read their creations aloud
to their creations.
