A long walk as the Sun sets,

shadows combine

and light retreats

over undulating hills;

orange, red the horizon

like in the memories

flooding my mind,

past joining today

like the patches

of shadows coming together

as evening. The

embers of today

briefly ignite

from flames long gone,

and for a moment

my fragments

separated by time

are one.
