Nabi Saleh
Three or four dozen people
marching down the gravel road
in brilliant sunshine,
past the white houses
on to the fields,
and there, waiting,
few jeeps and a handful
of occupation soldiers,
waiting with tear gas
and rubber bullets.
The very act of walking
on their own land
is now an act of defiance
out of necessity
