After Enlightenment

Was it really worth

to sacrifice all those decades

to seek inner peace

when the knowledge

is but for a few

fleeting years,

oh Master?

Sought, and found,

fifty decades, sixty decades

spent -

who can remember?

Knowledge holds firm in the mind,

but life is now a candle

flickering in the wind.
