THE RIVER FLOWS AWAY, AND US

Caught in the stream of time,

we are carried away

from those we loved,

who loved us; torn

away, we enter

strange lands, strange

times, the current 

discards us on some

solitary riverbank,

alone; so far, far away

from where

we came we die.
