UNLIKE THE MALE GREEK GODS

Greek goddesses never came

to mate with mortal men

in the form of a cow or a bird,

they came lush in human flesh,

not with horns and tails

or beating wings,

and this tells us something

of the Greek men spinning

myths and telling tales.
