What I learned from reading Samuel Beckett's poetry
Sometimes, to find your true voice,
you have to leave the language
you learned hand in hand with learning to walk.
Going through the collected poetry of Samuel Beckett,
the stuff in English is godawful third-rate mess,
and the French soars up from the dump
where the English nonsense fell,
up, up to the boundless sky.
