51 people trying to reach Canary Islands
from occupied Western Sahara or Mauretania,
51 refugees of wars and refugees of deprivation,
drowned in the Atlantic last week.
9 survivors hang onto the upturned
hull of the boat for days, to be finally saved
yesterday. We won't see movies made
about them, not even documentaries.
Around 30 000 people have drowned
trying to reach Europe in the last decade.
Mediterranean and Atlantic graveyards for
victims, cemeteries for Europe's conscience.
