People who spend hours each day
listening to songs, fall asleep with
headphones on their ears, dismiss
poems as something not for them,
obscure, niche things, highbrow
nonsense beyond or below them;
remind them of those hours they
listen to lyrics and they are baffled,
and then they tell you it's not
the lyrics that matter, although
you never catch them listening
to instrumental pieces.
