One of my nights when a hoofed
beast awakes among my swirling
thoughts, lusty as hell, and pushes
aside all the comets and the sonnets,
topples all the ancient carved pillars,
and would have you, drowning
the birdsongs in the soft night
with the sound of our mating.
But you, sweet nymph, have
had your metamorphosis.
