We should talk more about Ismail Haniyeh's
murdered relatives, his slain grandchildren,
than about him. He had taken a role he knew
could get him killed, in this no different
from a combatant. His grandchildren,
his civilian relatives, hadn't.
And if one tries to come up with excuses
to somehow 'justify' their killing, remember
the same excuses would 'justify' the killing of
civilian relatives of Israel's political
and military rulers. There are no
two different rules for the two sides.
