There are no 'forgotten' conflicts, there are
just conflicts the powerful countries and their
media want attention to, and conflicts which
they prefer to let go unnoticed, out of political
expediency, domestic or foreign. But they are
not forgotten, reports about them arrive on very
important desks and are pushed aside, newsrooms
receive breaking stories about them from news
agencies, press releases, and decide not to print
or put on the screen. It takes constant effort by
many people to keep some conflicts 'forgotten'.
