Silence is not shy, it's not even polite.
Whenever you are solitary, when sounds
desert you, you find yourself all alone
with silence. Invited or not, it will
be there, slowing time, growing
with each moment, until silence
is the sky above you and the ground
under you and the landscape embracing
you. Silence comes and settles upon you,
it wants you all for itself, puts its invisible
fingers on your lips so that you can't call
back the sounds. "I'm all you need", silence
would say, but then it would break itself.
