IN THE FOREST WHERE WE USED TO WALK

The forest paths between summer

and winter filled with fallen leaves

of alder, aspen and birch, autumn's

scattering amidst firs and pines,

and far in the distance murmur

that could be the summer leaving,

the winter blowing in coming time.
