ON HER GIFT

There are two feelings

inside him, seeing the image:

One that he should kneel,

and he does, in thought;

the other that he should

reach with his hand,

bring her out of the image,

throw over his shoulder,

and carry her to the bed

and there show those less

chivalrous feelings her gift

embedded in his flesh.
