On the same day a piece
of a tooth that had ached
(and for which I had a dentist
appointment in August)
fell off while I was
brushing my teeth,
leaving a slight fever,
and I lost my Twitter
account of 14 years;
two parts of myself
detached, removed
from my self-image,
from the body to the part
that had extended
roots across the web
and got hacked off.
Latter hurt more,
but having to choose,
I would have kept
the tooth.
