FOR WORDS ARE CHEAP

My muse is right, she

needs a union membership

to better take care of her rights, 

a representative to negotiate her

a better deal for working so hard.

No matter how much I write, her

pay remains the same, which is

none at all, and the benefits... to be

mentioned in poems she inspires,

now and then - not much, that.

A hard-working muse needs

more than praise in words,

for words are cheap,

like these...
