Keith Douglas, Alun Lewis, Sidney Keyes
all put on uniforms and died; Philip
Larkin had a fascist dad, Hitler was
the house god. Young Philip was bit
of a security threat, so no uniform
and military cemetery for him - thus
fascism bought Horse-lover Larkin
life and a place atop nation's cupboard,
from where he could rage against
the working class and 'niggers'
like a proper Conservative.
